Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is therapy like?
Therapy is your time to talk about thoughts and feelings to a trusted individual who will offer a space of deep insight, reflection and support. I can provide the tools and strategies you may need to create a more calm and clear approach to life.
  • How long are therapy sessions and how long will therapy take?
Each therapy session is 50 minutes long. Therapy lasts for as long as you feel that it is beneficial for you. Therapy is an individual process and everybody has their own unique experience with it. We will create your goals and objectives about what you’d like to accomplish in therapy and we will continually assess your progress along the way. When those goals and objectives have been met, we can explore your thoughts and feelings about ending our work together. When former clients need to return to therapy, my door is always open if I have space in my practice.
  • Do you offer teletherapy?
In addition to face to face sessions, I also offer video and phone appointments. The platform I use for teletherapy sessions is both HIPAA compliant and very easy to use.
  • What are your fees?
My fee for each 50-minute in-person and online session is $200. Sliding scale fees are available on a case by case basis. Please contact me to discuss this. In compliance with Title 45, section 149.610 Code of Federal Regulations, I will provide a "Good Faith Estimate"of anticipated therapy costs to private pay clients at the start of treatment.
  • Do you offer a sliding scale?
I do hold a number of available sliding scale openings. If you need a reduced rate, we can discuss the possibility during the initial consultation.
  • Will my insurance cover our session? How does that work?
I am considered an “out of network provider” and I am not a member of any specific insurance panels. I can provide a super bill for your insurance, that allows you to submit for your out of network reimbursement. Many clients are eligible for reimbursement of services through out of network plans or healthcare spending accounts. It is your responsibility to verify the specifics of your coverage. You can do this by calling the phone number for member services on your insurance card and asking about your coverage for “out of network therapy sessions.”
  • How often do I pay and what forms of payment do you accept?
Payment is to be made in full at the beginning of each session. I accept most major credit cards, FSA or HSA cards, checks and cash.
  • What's the next step in getting started?
The next step is to either email or call me to set up a free 20-minute consultation or schedule an appointment.
  • Do you have evening or weekend availability?
I try very hard to keep in mind the scheduling needs of my clients. My office hours include day and early evening times. Office hours do not include weekends.
